Modkits

Post by Eddie Stephens »

I was wondering if the mod kits from LeMay that are intended for use in Profexs will work in tubefex also.
Anyone had any experience with this ,good or bad?
Is there a substantial difference in using these kits?

The Tubefex (and Transtube Fex) do not need that mod. The newer units do not have the muddiness that the old Profex II had. I have a Transtube Fex and it is what the old Profex II should have been. I had a Profex II and could never get anything but a bassy muddy sound (and a lot of noise) out of it. The Transtube Fex does not have any of those problems.

However, if I had a Profex II the first thing I would do is put the Lemay upgrade in it.

Jack...

Even tho the Profex II has the Lemay Mod,(which I put in mine)it dosen't compensate for a really crappy program. Most of the "B" programs seem to be for 6-string lead Heavey Metal guitars. (read this as distortion and feedback)

I have patched a few programs in the "A" bank that I use, but mostly I find the "B" series totally unaceptable except for "B-46" which I use only for the song "Lost In The Feeling" by Mr. Twitty.

Just MHO...... Image Image
