A few may know this great band, probably not too many, but I was floored first time I heard them on 102.7 WNEW FM NYC...The steel playing was above and beyond much of what I heard back then and the vocals were as good or better than the best IMHO..
I won't mention names but the steel player is a forumite here, and I wish these guys would have had more success..... bob
I'm over the hill and hittin'rocks on the way down!

Wow. Blast from the past. We used to play this in Molly Cribb and was among the 1st steel I learned. I still regularly use those riffs! Totally forgot where they came from. Thanks!

Yessir. I have their self titled vinyl disc sometime 70s, I think.

I'd have to dig it out to be sure, but I believe, besides Doug on steel and keys, couple guitar players were Joe Walsh and Don Felder.

It's a nice album. I'll have to find it and give it a spin, again. Thanks for the reminder Bob.

That's about the time I had gotten serious about getting and learning to play pedal steel due to this kind of music.

I worked in retail so I was in shopping malls everyday. In those days, there were music stores everywhere and so I'd go into these stores on break and flip through the albums looking at the credits for anything that had steel guitar on it. Many times, I would not know of the band or had ever heard any of the music but the inclusion of steel guitar was enough for me.

I don't recall if I'd heard any of this album on radio prior to buying it, I might have known of Joe Walsh and Don Felder at that time, but I remember I was delighted when I put it on the turntable.

This method left me with a few dud records, but I kept them all just for the steel guitar. This one in particular was/is a real gem though.

I liked it because it scratched all my itches from sweet ballads to edgy cuts such as Coming Out of HIding which has some nice dirty steel by Doug.

I bought it on dvd years back after the thread about it. I’ll dig it up and check the credits if there are any listed . Marc, so funny that you were in Molly crib, always saw them playing everywhere seeing them/ you in the Aquarian newspaper, that was a great mag,

Always wondered how yhst name came about , always thought it may have been a play on Molly Hatchet.

Remember all those bands of the day, Holme, southern Cross, Kinderhook, crystal ship, yasgers farm (sp), cats on a smooth surface , you know them all, I’m sure you ran into Bon Jovi back in those days , not sure he really deserves a rest stop, but anyway , great days!

Don Felder was a guest on one of their albums.

That's Dave Pearlman on steel, not me.
And for those who were asking about Balloon Dick, his droll take on Big Bad John was featured in that show:

I think that I already posted everything that I can remember about that, and some things that I can't remember, in the thread referenced above by Ken Pippus : viewtopic.php?t=122437
